The Oriental Warehouse

A building within a building, it isn’t just a novelty: form supports function. The original exterior of The Oriental Warehouse was left intact while a whole new building was created within it, keeping the look feel of the building, while updating the living areas. This warehouse was converted into 66 live/work lofts in 1996 and boasts exposed brick and timber and stunning architectural details. The lofts at The Oriental Warehouse range in size from 1,350 to 1,800 sq. ft. (aprx) and work as 1 bed + den, 2 bed, or 2 bed + den floor plans. Every loft has two bathrooms and washer/dryer hookup. Smart Facts: * Built by the Pacific Mail Steamship Company in 1868, this building served as the warehouse for all manner of goods from the orient, including, tea, coffee, rice, and silk. * To take on the unique task of transforming this old San Francisco warehouse into a modern-day loft marvel, the talented Fisher-Friedman Architects were employed for the redesign. It is now an historic landmark.
